How To Make Xigbar's Guns
In 13 Easy Steps!

Note: This project took me roughly about 2 and a half weeks to finish, and that's without the paper mache'. With all the directions written out, it should take less time, but trust me, don't take my word for it. So please don't search this up the night before the convention/due date and try to make them. Glue is not your BFFL, because it takes forever to dry! So, just, take it slow and make sure you have a large space to work out on, and you'll be fine.
And please, make adjustments as needed, as you feel they should look. They're your guns, and you should be happy with them!

Items needed:
• 1 Bottle Elmer's Glue (or some typing of glue.)
• Some rulers (tape measures work too!)
• Alligator Clips (as many as you can find.)
• 1 large cardboard box used/or unused (This requires a lot of cardboard, so make sure you have more for back-up.)
• Some tissue
• Scotch Tape (used for packing things)
• 2 popsicle sticks
• A sewing needle and some beading thread (Beading thread is much stronger, but if you don't have any, regular thread is fine.)
• Some music / an iPod
• A pair of scissors. And some backup scissors close by.

Step One:
First, I cut out 2 strips of cardboard, one about 1.5 inches wide, and the other 1 1/2 feet long. Then I glued them together at the ends so they make one long strip. This will make the outer rim for the main par of the gun.

Step Two:
Secondly, we'll need to make the inner circle for Xigbar's gun. This will be made with two strips, both one foot long, with the same width of the other two strips we cut out earlier (1.5 inches). Glue them at the ends, so they make one long strip.

Step Three:
While that dries, let's move onto the barrel! Unlike most guns, Xigbar's rifles are rectangular, and slowly sink down towards the end. (This part gets very messy, annoying, and takes time. This is where your iPod makes in debut.)
At the far left, I measured just a bit under 3 inches, and at the far right I measured 1.5 inches. Just have the transfer from the left to the right (the slope) be gentle, and you'll be fine. *This is for the top/bottom of the barrel.*

Step Four:
The right and left side of Xigbar's guns also slope downward. Using the technique from Step Three, I measured almost 2.5 inches on the far left, and just a tad bit over 1 inch on the far right.

Step Five:
After gluing, and waiting patiently, take one popsicle stick  and glue to the opening of the larger side. *It should be glued sideways! Stand upright to dry!*
For the smaller side, cut out a small square of cardboard and fit it to the hole and glue in.

Step Six:
While the barrel dries, you should check on the two circles you made earlier. Fit the smaller of the two, into the larger one, and make sure they are indeed circles. (They should look kinda like a giant doughnut. :D)

Step Seven:
Cut out three 1.5 by 1.5 inch cardboard squares. Two 2 1/3 by 8.5 inch rectangles. And two 1 4/5 by 6 inch rectangles.

Step Eight:
Take the 2 1/3 by 8 1/2 inches piece and glue the two circles apart. The extra 6 inches should be on the outside of the circle.
Now we take the 6 by 1 4/5 inch rectangles and glue them to the edges of the 8 1/2 by 2 1/3 rectangle glued in place already. The pieces should be glued so the other 8 1/2 by 2 1/3 piece can fit on top, and make a 3'd rectangle.
Let it dry in a place you know it won't be disturbed for some time while the glue dries.

Step Nine:
Now to the handle, the make-or-break part. Just have a TON of reference pictures when you draw this out, and you'll be fine.
After you cut one out, cut three more out.

Step Ten:
Pair them in twos, tape one area around (so they don't move), then stuff with tissue, and tape over.

Step Twelve:
Take beading thread (you'll need the barrel and the now dry circles) and a needle. Starting from the far left, (or right, it doesn't matter) thread into the circle. Bring it out, and up. Thread down into the top of the barrel. Bring out from the bottom of the top layer. Thread into the circle. Repeat until you reach the end.
Afterwards, take a very long piece of tape, (you may need some help here.) and lift up the barrel, to about where it would be even looking. (It sags if you haven't noticed.) Tape it down in the middle of the barrel, and bring the tape down in the middle of the circle of the gun, then tape to the bottom of the gun. It should be much more sturdy now.

Step Thirteen:
Now we take the only part that's not attached to the mostly assembled gun, that's right, you guessed it! The handle! I took a 1 inch by 3 inch rectangle and glued it to the top of the handle that we will be connecting to the rest of the dun. Then I placed it about an inch and a half (1.5 inches) away from the middle of the gun, and glued it down.
NOTE: Tends to lean. Take tape and tape down the corners.
Xiggy you better be so gosh-dang happy! I'll soon be uploading a picture of the finished product. If there are any problems/questions/quandaries/concerns/Squeee's, feel free to speak 'ya mind. Yeah yeah yeah, "This doesn't tell me how to make the little spikey things!" You get some extra cardboard, and cut out some diamonds! Also, this thing needs to paper mache'd. So, FYI in advance. This thing took me forever and a day to make, and I hope you all love it as much as I do! :boing:
